Before we renovated this space in Leaside Toronto, there was an under-utilized sauna in the back room of an out of style bathroom. While some may think the walls separating the rooms are restricting leaving you with limited options, we took the opportunity to build a large basement bathroom for the clients. Pot lights in the ceiling were a significant factor in transforming the space from dark and gloomy to bright and well-lit, which contributed to the opening up of the bathroom.
Once the Schluter waterproof flooring was installed throughout, a shower with glass enclosure and door were put in the room in the back. The placement of the shower really showcases it in the middle of the room with lots of open space surrounding it. Anteriorly to the wall, the toilet was placed in a nook opposite the sink and vanity. A sleek window in the separating wall ties the two rooms together.
